LG Washer - LE Error Code

You started the wash as usual, the LG typed water, tried to scroll the drum several times, and generated an LE error on the display. Moreover, the drum does not rotate on any program and stage of its execution (washing, rinsing, spinning), but it scrolls freely with your hand. Sometimes the drum starts to rotate, but not at full “strength” with strong vibration and rumbling sound. Also, the drum can twitch.

The error is typical for LG direct-drive washing machines.

The LE code means that your motor was locked for some reason. This could lead to both "trifling" problems that can be fixed independently, as well as serious malfunctions that require professional repair.

• Try opening and closing the washing machine door repeatedly until it clicks. Perhaps the first time you closed it loosely.
• Disconnect the machine from the network for 10 - 15 minutes, and then turn it on again. The electronic controller (control module) may have failed.
• It happens that the cause of the LE error is the overload of the washing machine on delicate washing programs (Hand wash, Wool, Silk). In this case, the error code usually appears during the spin phase. You should reduce the weight of the loaded laundry.
• Check that no small object (coin, bone from the bra) mechanically blocks the rotation of the drum. If so, it is necessary to remove it by disassembling the tank of the washing machine.
• Check the voltage in the mains, often the LG shows the LE code in case of under voltage.
