IE and 1E Error Code - LG Washing Machines

LG Washer - IE and 1E Error Code

You have loaded the laundry into the LG washing machine, started the washing program, but you don’t hear the usual sound of the accumulating water and you don’t see the tank filling up. And after a few minutes, IE error appears on the display. In some cases, the machine still fills with water, but for a suspiciously long time. And the result is almost the same - there is little water in the drum of the washing machine and the same IE error on the screen. Some users read this error as 1E due to the similarity of characters I and 1

Error Decoding

The IE code (Inlet Error) means that the LG washing machine for some reason could not draw water in the allotted time. The cause of the error could be either elementary carelessness or serious malfunctions requiring the intervention of a professional washing machine repair technician.

IE error in the LG typewriter - what to do, in which cases you can fix it yourself

  • Check if there is water in the tap. It may have been disconnected or blocked. Water supply should be restored.
  • Check the shutoff valve that shuts off the water supply to the washing machine. You may have forgotten to open it before washing. Do it.
  • There are frequent cases when the shut-off valve is open "unfilled". In this case, the washing machine draws water for a long time, and then gives an error 1E, without starting to wash. Therefore, be sure to open the stop valve “all the way”.
  • Weak water pressure in the water supply can also be the reason why the LG washing machine does not have time to draw water in the allotted time, and leads to an error. Restore water pressure.
  • It is possible that the inlet hose is twisted or transferred through which water enters the washing machine. Spread it out.
  • It may be that the filter mesh is clogged, which is located at the connection point of the inlet hose to the washing machine and protects it from the ingress of small particles contained in tap water. In this case, the LG machine will draw a little water and give a 1E error. Remove and clean the filter mesh by putting in a solution of citric acid for 1-2 hours.
  • Try disconnecting the machine from the network for 15 to 20 minutes, and then turning it back on. There may be a malfunction in the control unit.
