Where is the fuse in the LG washing machine?

The body of any LG automatic machine has a fuse. Its function is to protect the expensive microcircuit from voltage surges in the electrical network. Where is this part located, how to get to it?

Looking for a fuse

Where is the element that protects the washing machine from power surges located? The fuse on the LG washing machine is located directly on the control module. To access it, you will have to partially disassemble the housing of the washing machine, remove the "dashboard" and work with the board.

The task of getting to the fuse appears when the part fails. In such a situation, the element must be dismantled and replaced with a new one. But how do you know that the problem is in the blown fuse?

So, when you try to turn on the machine, it will not react in any way to either connecting the wire to the socket or pressing the buttons on the control panel. It will look like the power has been turned off in the apartment. Although in reality there will be no problems with either the power grid or the power cord.

Therefore, if the lights in the house were suddenly turned off/on the day before while the machine was working, or there were power surges in the electrical network (the lights were sometimes bright, sometimes dim), and after that the washing machine stopped turning on, it makes sense to check the fuse. We will tell you how to get to the element.

Removing the control board

As already mentioned, there is a fuse on the control board. Many users are scared by the prospect of dismantling the main module of the washing machine. However, in reality, you will not have to completely remove the unit. We will tell you how to get to the element.

The sequence of actions is as follows:

  • De-energize the washing machine by pulling the power cord out of the socket,
  • Turn off the shut-off valve supplying water to the washing machine,
  • Disconnect the device from the water supply and sewerage system,
  • Remove the top cover of the case by removing a couple of screws that secure it,
  • Remove the detergent dispenser from the machine,
  • Remove the bolts holding the instrument panel,
  • Carefully remove the control panel from the housing,
  • Take a photo of how the wires are connected between the instrument panel and the control module,
  • Disconnect the wires from the control panel and set it aside,
  • Unscrew the screws securing the electronic unit,
  • Remove the control module from the washing machine.

You can replace the element without removing the control module from the washing machine. It is easy to select a fuse - in the store, just say the model and serial number of the LG washing machine. After the repair, you need to assemble the washing machine in the reverse order, focusing on the photos taken.
