How to replace a Samsung washing machine drain hose

What to do when you urgently need to replace the drain hose? Call a technician or try to solve the problem yourself? In fact, there is nothing complicated in the upcoming procedure. The Samsung washing machine manual describes this process in sufficient detail.

Having discovered even a small defect in the drain hose, you need to replace the element as soon as possible. Initially, a small crack after a couple of cycles can lead to a rupture of the sleeve, and, as a result, flooding of your apartment and the neighbors below. It is better not to risk it, but to immediately install a new corrugation. Moreover, the work can be done with your own hands.

Before starting work, study the connection diagram of the drain hose. One end of the hose is connected to the sewer pipe or to the siphon, the second is screwed to the snail branch pipe. To disconnect the corrugation from the pump, you will have to look under the Samsung washing machine.

If we talk about external connection, then here the drain hose of the Samsung automatic machine is connected either to the sewer pipe, through a special tee, or to a free siphon nipple. Since the washing machine has already been installed, look where exactly the second end of the corrugated pipe will have to be attached.

Before you begin replacing the drain hose, it is important to remember:

• De-energize the machine,
• Close the shut-off valve responsible for filling the machine with water,
• Drain the remaining water from the system.

Liquid is drained from the Samsung washing machine through the opening of the waste filter. Algorithm of actions:

• Place a small container under the washing machine in the area where the waste filter is located,
• Unscrew the garbage can plug half a turn,
• Collect water in a basin,
• Remove the entire debris filter,
• Wait until all the water has drained into the container.

When replacing the drain hose, you will need a lot of dry rags. It is better to put them under the machine. When disconnecting the corrugation from the snail, water will flow in any case.

If the Samsung washing machine has a bottom, it must be removed. Some models are equipped with a special float - a leak protection sensor. In this case, you will need to disconnect the wiring from it, and only then remove the tray.

After this, free access to the drain hose connection point will open. Next, you need to:

• Use pliers to loosen the clamps that secure the corrugated pipe,
• Detach the drain hose from the snail joint.

Before attaching a new drain hose, clean the pump snail from any dirt that has accumulated there. The hose is connected in a similar manner:

• Pull the corrugated pipe onto the snail pipe.
• Secure the hose securely with clamps (it is important not to overtighten the clamps so as not to damage the base of the hose).

Then the Aqua Stop sensor wiring is connected, the tray is put in place. Now the Samsung automatic machine returns to the vertical position. The other end of the new corrugation is connected to the pipe or the siphon nipple. The drain hose should not have any kinks after installation.

Now you need to run a test wash. This will make sure that the connection is correct and the joints are not leaking. It is enough to select the shortest mode, for example, "Rinse".

When there are even small leaks, you will have to reconnect the hose. Perhaps the clamps are not tightened enough, or the corrugation is not installed evenly. If everything is dry, you can use the washing machine in the previous mode.

Why change this part?

Why is it so important to replace a damaged drain hose in time? Tens of litters of wastewater pass through it during each wash cycle. Therefore, the drainage hose must always be in perfect condition to cope with the loads.

If you notice cracks appearing on the tube, do not delay replacing it. You need to install a new corrugated pipe immediately. It is strictly forbidden to operate a Samsung washing machine with a damaged drain hose. This can lead to flooding of the room. Some users try to wrap the hole with tape or electrical tape - this measure can save a maximum of a couple of cycles.

Often the drain hose gets clogged. In this case, it is not necessary to change it, the problem can be solved by cleaning the element. Disconnect the sleeve from the body and pipe, rinse under strong water pressure.

Replacement may be necessary when the drain hose is no longer long enough. For example, when moving the washing machine to another location. Do not try to extend the hose - the more joints there are, the more likely a breakthrough is.

It is safer to buy a new hose of sufficient length. It should be understood that it should not be more than two meters. Otherwise, it will be difficult for the pump to pump water into the sewer, the pump will work under increased loads and will fail faster.

Changing the drain hose is easy. Especially when the washing machine is already connected, and you don’t have to organize a connection point to the sewer. All you need to do is remove the old hose and put a new one in its place, securely fixing the joints with clamps.
