Sooner or later, the owner of an LG washing machine will need to clean the drainage hose with his own hands. It is no secret that waste water, passing from the drum to the sewer, leaves particles of debris and soap deposits on the machine parts. The rubber walls of pipes are no exception, and over time a thick sticky layer accumulates here, which threatens serious blockage. There is only one way out - regularly remove accumulated dirt. We will learn how to do this from the article.
To clean the drain hose of an LG washing machine, it must be disconnected from the machine body and disconnected from the sewer. This is not difficult to do: just turn off the power to the machine, tilt the washer back, leaning it against the wall, and pay attention to the bottom. We cover the area around with rags, open the technical hatch, carefully twist the leakage sensor, and find the location for installing the rubber tube. Loosen the retaining clamp and pull the pipe towards you.
The second end is even easier to disconnect. We find where the rubber band joins the siphon or sewer riser, loosen the clamp, and release the tube. That's it, dismantling has been successfully completed, and you can start cleaning the hose.
There is no need to rush to grab water and soap: it is better to first inspect the removed hose carefully. Before you start cleaning, you should make sure that the rubber is intact, and if there is damage to the casing, you will need to replace it. Otherwise, unpleasant surprises with leaks will await you later.
The cleaning itself is carried out using a special non-metallic Kevlar cable. There is a small brush at the tip, which is used to remove accumulated soap scum. To do this, just follow a couple of simple steps.
Instead of a Kevlar cable, a homemade analogue is suitable: bend one end of a long steel wire into a loop and tightly wrap a piece of fabric around it. The main thing is that the “brush” matches the diameter of the tube. In this case, the cleaning process is no different - insert, clean, rinse.
What causes the hose to clog?
Clogging of the hose is almost inevitable: washing powder and lint from clothes will still begin to settle on the walls of the tube. Such clogging is considered natural for all washing machines, regardless of manufacturer and model. However, it is possible to slow down the process of plaque formation if you apply the following recommendations in practice:
Removing the drain hose and clearing it of accumulated dirt takes 5 minutes. The main thing is to act carefully, confidently, and according to instructions.
