• Finally, if you have a brand new “home assistant” with a modern touch screen, then turning on the drain is even easier. Use a separate key to stop the current working cycle, go to the touch panel menu, select the “Options” section there, and then “Drain.” Afterwards, all that remains is to activate the function with the “Start” button.

Getting rid of water manually

It is easiest to use a sleeve, so let us check that first. The waste liquid will quickly leave with virtually no effort on the part of the SM owner.

In a situation where it is not possible to correct the situation using a drain hose, you should use a drain filter, which must first be removed. What should I do for this?

• Disconnect the washing machine from all communications.
• Prepare a large container for water to avoid flooding the floors.
• Pry up the decorative panel from the bottom of the washer and remove it.
• Look for the drain filter, which looks like a large black plug.
• Place a prepared container under it.
• Carefully unscrew the cap clockwise.
• Wait until all the waste fluid has drained.

If it turns out that the drain filter is open, but the water still does not drain, then you need to carefully examine the pipe that comes from the tank. The problem may be that it is clogged to such an extent that dirt is preventing water from going down the drain. In such a situation, you need to unhook the element and rinse it thoroughly with a powerful stream of warm water from the tap.

Why does the machine not remove water on its own?

If the Gorenje washing machine stopped draining water into the sewer, this could happen due to several malfunctions at once. This can happen not only due to a short circuit, but also due to natural wear and tear, as well as the impeller, which can be blocked by various contaminants.
• Faulty CM control module. The “brain” of the washing machine may also fail which is why the waste liquid will not go down the drain. Usually, the module breaks down due to a manufacturing defect, a sudden voltage drops in the network and a short circuit.
• Wrong hose selected. Washing machines pump water into the drain using a pump with a certain power, which is designed for a standard drain hose 1.5 meters long. If you install the hose at 2 or more meters, the pump may not cope with its duties, so the waste liquid will simply return back to the system.
