Bosch washing machine does not spin well

What to do if you notice that your Bosch washing machine does not spin clothes well? All stages of washing are conducted as usual, but the items in the drum remain wet. Often this is a one-time “action,” sometimes it is repeated periodically. Let us figure out what could be the reasons for poor-quality spinning, and how to organize the work of a “home assistant” with your own hands.

Why does this happen?

Spinning is an important stage of washing. Removing excess water from things manually is not an easy task, and time-consuming. Therefore, homemakers are unpleasantly surprised by wet laundry in the drum because this promises additional troubles.

It is simply impossible to control how well an automatic machine wrings things out during the washing process. And when the cycle ends, it is too late to do anything. Therefore, you will have to look for the cause of the malfunction after finishing the program and spinning the laundry manually.

A washing machine may not spin clothes well for various reasons. Basic:

• Exceeding the maximum permissible load weight. If you push much more clothing into the drum than is allowed, then the machine simply cannot cope with the load,
• Starting a mode programmed for a low spin speed. For example, when selecting the “silk” program, automatic spinning may not be provided at all, and the laundry will remain wet,
• Different densities of the fabric from which the clothes are made. In this case, only part of the laundry will not be wrung out well,
• Clogged drain system. In this situation, after washing, liquid remains in the drum, so even well-wrung items get wet again. Most often, the problem is in the drainage hose, which does not allow waste to flow into the sewer,
• Wear of the internal elements of the automatic machine. Usually, the reason lies in a broken bearing assembly. A clear symptom indicating a breakdown is loud noise and grinding noise during operation of the equipment,
• Tachometer malfunction. It may fail if the permissible load weight is regularly exceeded,
• Foreign object entering the space between the tank and the drum. A foreign body gets stuck and disrupts the smooth operation of the equipment,
• Pump failure. If the drain pump is faulty, other “symptoms of the disease” may be observed. It is impossible to immediately say whether it is intact; diagnostics of the part will be required.

In addition, problems with the main control module may be the cause of poor spinning. The “brain” of the washing machine is responsible for absolutely all functions. Therefore, you should not exclude the possibility of damage to the block.

Simple DIY diagnostics

If you are not once, but periodically, dissatisfied with the way the machine spins things, you need to look for the cause of the malfunction. It is quite possible that the problem is trivial and easy to solve on your own. In some cases, you will need the help of a specialist.

Possible causes should be ruled out starting with the simplest ones. To begin, remove half of the items from the drum and start the spin cycle again. This is due to the usual overload of equipment. If the measure helped, there is no need to worry, you just need to monitor the weight of the laundry more carefully you put into the machine.

Next, you will have to clean the elements of the drain system - the garbage filter and the drain hose. The filter element is clogged, or a blockage has formed in the outlet “sleeve.”

If the situation does not change, check to see if there is a foreign object stuck between the tank and the drum. Usually in this case, washing is accompanied by noise that was not there before. If found, remove the item through the heating element hole.

When you wash items made from coarse fabrics and light materials at the same time in a Bosch machine, try sorting the items and spinning them separately. Sometimes this measure helps solve the problem.

If none of the above step’s help, you will have to dig deeper. The reason lies in a worn-out bearing assembly, a broken tachometer, or a “burnt out” drain pump. We need to inspect the heating element and engine. If necessary, replace the faulty part with a new one.

Precautionary measures

To avoid problems with your “home assistant,” you need to strictly follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for operating the equipment. Some users neglect the rules and then suffer from breakdowns. Necessarily:

• Observe the permissible load weight,
• Check your clothing pockets. Small foreign objects may get stuck inside the machine, the remaining paper may become frayed and clog the drain filter,
• Choose the washing mode carefully, and not at random. Focus on the type of fabric and filling of items,
• Wash small clothes in special bags.

The measures listed will help avoid problems with spinning. The more careful you treat your washing machine, the longer it will help around the house without breaking down.
