Samsung washing machine turns off during washing

Samsung washing machine turns off during washing

In the life of a housewife, there is an unpleasant situation when she starts washing on an automatic typewriter, goes about her business, and then suddenly discovers that the home assistant herself turned off right during work. At the same time, it is impossible to restart the work cycle because the equipment stops responding to any commands. So why does the washing machine turn off during washing, and how to deal with it?

Why did the problem occur?

If the Samsung washing machine suddenly turned off in the middle of the cycle, this may have happened due to external factors you overlooked. So first of all, it is worth checking the most elementary things, and only then proceed to a serious diagnosis of the insides of the washing machine. So first, inspect the external electrics.

  • You may be leaving, and the electricity was cut off in the house during this time. Maybe the light went out in the whole apartment or only in the room where the Samsung washing machine is located? You also need to check the electrical panel.
  • If the previous points are checked, pay attention to the outlet to which the machine is connected.
  • Finally, carefully examine the washing machine's cord, whether the dog has bitten it, and whether there are any visible defects on the plug.

These three points are the most elementary causes of a malfunction, due to which the Samsung washing machine could turn itself off in the middle of a cycle. If any of this happens, the problem can be dealt with quickly and without problems. But suppose the home assistant has stopped turning on due to damage, a sticking of the power button, a malfunction of the electronic module, or a breakdown of the noise suppression filter. In that case, it will require deep diagnostics and repair.

Noise filter and wiring in CM

What should I do if I did not turn the light off during the operation of the Samsung washing machine, but the socket and cord are in order? You should first check the simple elements of household appliances and, if necessary, diagnose complex parts. Let's start by inspecting the mains cable, plug and noise filter. These parts are linked, so that will check them simultaneously. Then, follow the instructions for dismantling parts.

  • Disconnect the washer from all communications.
  • It is advisable to move the device away from the wall so that there is free access to the rear wall of the machine.
  • Remove the screws securing the top cover of the equipment.
  • Locate the noise filter, most often located slightly to the left of the power wire connection inside the Samsung washing machine body.
  • Now you need to loosen the latch that holds the power cord.
  • It remains to pull out the filter and the power cable.

After successful dismantling, you need to scrutinize the wire plug. If there are no visible defects, take a multimeter, put it in resistance measurement mode, and connect the probes. If the device shows a zero value, the tester is in order and ready for diagnosis.

Switch the tool to the buzzer mode and use the probes to check each strand of the power cord. The tester will beep each time if the connection between the tested sections of the wire is in order. If the device is silent, then the wire is damaged.

Repair, in this case, will not give the desired effect. Do not twist or use blue electrical tape to repair the Samsung washer wire. It is much cheaper and more efficient to buy a new cord, with the purchase of which an open or short circuit will not happen again shortly.

After the wire, check the filter using the exact multimeter with the buzzer mode. Connect the tester probes to the capacitor contacts, and if you see 0 or 1 on display, the element will have to be thrown away. To avoid wasting money in vain, buy exactly the same filter you removed from your home assistant.

Heating element, motor or electronic module

If the washing machine turns off during washing, but there are no problems with electricity, an outlet, or a wire or filter, then the heating element is most likely to blame. A water heating element with a damaged housing can short-circuit, so it will urgently turn off the device's power supply during the operating cycle since it will be activated to heat the water.

When there is a suspicion that the heating element is causing the malfunction, it must be removed and carefully checked. Because in Samsung washing machines, the heating element is located in the front. Therefore, it is difficult to get it without proper experience and skills. To save time, it is better to call a service center specialist who can immediately check the equipment's heating element, engine and electronic module. At the same time, if the regular operation of the machine can still be restored on its own, for which it is possible to replace worn brushes, then it is better not to touch the control module, even for ordinary owners of the machine.

If you have a Samsung washing machine with a commutator motor, then to remove the motor, you must first remove the back wall of the washer. Then remove the drive belt, unscrew the bolts holding the motor, and remove the motor from the device. Now it remains only to pull out the old brushes with a Phillips screwdriver and attach new parts in their place. Finally, install the motor back in its place and be prepared for the fact that for some time, the new brushes may occasionally spark while the commutator motor is running. However, you should not be afraid of sparks - this is a normal phenomenon during which the meetings are rubbed.
