Samsung washing machine makes a lot of noise when spinning

Modern washing machines are made, so they do not make much noise during the spin cycle. Therefore, if your Samsung washing machine is noisier during spinning than usual, then most likely an emergency has arisen with it, which is best dealt with as soon as possible.

What to do if there is excessive noise?

Despite progress, completely silent home assistants still need to be created. Therefore, if the machine is buzzing during the spin cycle, then this is completely normal because it is at this stage of washing that the drum rotates at maximum speed.

At the same time, during the spin cycle, there should not be any extraneous sounds, such as knocking, rattling, rumbling or clanging. If such sounds suddenly appear during operation, then you should use the following recommendations and find the cause of this behaviour:

  • If the noise exceeds 75 decibels, which is the average noise for the CM, then the first thing to do is to check for metal, plastic, or other parts on clothing that can touch the drum walls during the operating cycle, thus causing a loud noise.
  • You should also check that no foreign objects, such as coins or paper clips, have fallen into the tank of the washing machine.
  • The next reason for the noise might be the imbalance of the laundry, which could fall into a lump if there was too much of it in the drum. Also, the problem could arise due to too large things in the machine, for example, a warm blanket.
  • Spin large bed linen. It is better to set the spin speed to 800 rpm or less.

When noise occurs during the operation of the CM, it is necessary to turn off the device and unplug it from the mains. Then, try to scroll the drum in several directions with your own hands and listen:

  • If there are no extraneous sounds, for example, quiet clicks during a full turn of the drum, then you can proceed to the next step of the test.
  • You must contact the repair service for detailed diagnostics if a sound, say, a roar, knock or crackle.

But before calling the service center, you can check the shipping bolts placed on household appliances at the manufacturer's factory. These bolts hold the machine's tank during transport, protecting it from damage. Must remove the latches before starting the operation - they are located on the back wall of the SM housing in three to five pieces.

Inspecting the floor surface where the equipment is installed is also important. The washing machine must stand not only on a flat but also on a hard surface, such as concrete or tile. Therefore, linoleum, carpet, parquet or laminate could be better coatings for the installation of household appliances.

Another common cause of the noise is the incorrect installation of the machine, which should be level. You can check this using the building level, which must first check on the side of the device and right on it. If the check reveals unevenness, then it is necessary to adjust the legs of the apparatus. Plus, you should ensure the machine's legs are securely fixed with a nut.

The last step in the test can be considered cleaning the drain filter and the impeller. Once all the elements of the SM have been checked, it remains only to run the test work cycle in the spin mode but without clothes in the drum. If the extraneous noise has disappeared, the equipment can continue to use without restrictions. However, you must call a specialist service center for repairs if the sound remains.

Broken shock absorber

If an unpleasant noise occurs, you should not immediately replace the shock absorbers because the problem may not be in them. Visually identifying the problem will not work, so you must first remove and check the racks. These dampers are located at the bottom of the washing machine directly under the tank, so you cannot reach them without disassembling the device, which will differ in different brands and models of SM.

You should not be afraid of this process because you need to disassemble the machine not entirely but partially. You only need to remove the case's back panel on most washing machines. For example, dampers on Bosch products have a classic design, which clings to the body of the device with one bolt from below and is fastened from above with a latch. In this case, the dismantling will look like this:

  • Disconnect the washer from all communications.
  • Unscrew the fasteners holding the back wall.
  • Using a long 13 mm drill, remove the bolt that holds the part from below.
  • Remove the latch and remove the damper.

If we are talking about washing machines of the LG brand and some others, then the case does not need to be disassembled. In this case, you can get to the shock absorbers through the bottom of the home assistant. Unplug the unit from the water supply and lay it on its left side. After that, it remains only to remove the fasteners from each end of the racks and pull out the damper.

The type of fastening is influenced by the equipment manufacturer's brand because, in equipment from Samsung, Miele and AEG, shock absorbers are fixed with bolts on m8 and m10. In such a situation, to remove them from the body and tank, you will have to use either ring wrenches or socket heads for 12 and 13. However, it is very convenient to work with Whirlpool equipment - there. Furthermore, the dampers are fixed with special latches that do not require any additional tools.

Removing the washing machine should do with the utmost care not to damage the parts. Do not press too hard on the fasteners, and do not use too heavy dismantling tools. Carefully monitor the integrity of the racks, plastic tank and other key components. When you remove the racks, you need to check them according to the following instructions:

  • Press the stem,
  • Pull it out of the part body,
  • Evaluate the tension exerted by the rack.

In a situation where the rod easily leaves the housing, it is damaged, so it can no longer dampen the vibrations of the washing machine. Additionally, on some racks, you can evaluate sealing grease in the piston because if it is not there, this is another sign of element wear.
