Atlant washing machine does not fill with water

It is not difficult to understand that the Atlant washing machine is not drawing water - the machine will accept the selected mode, lock the door, hum and “go silent.” The drum will remain empty, and the cycle will be interrupted. All this will clearly indicate that the wash has ended before it began. Several problems prevent the tank from filling at once: from an incorrectly connected inlet hose to a faulty pump and control board. In any case, you will have to do diagnostics and repairs.

What is wrong with the machine?

You cannot wash things without water, so you need to fix the problem as soon as possible. However, it is not always a matter of a specific breakdown; for example, the problem is often a disconnection of the central water supply. The second “non-repairable” problem is an unlocked door, since when the drum is open, the UBL does not work, and the wash does not start.

If there is water in the pipes and the door is slammed tightly, it means that comprehensive diagnostics are indispensable. First, we try to determine the nature of the problem. Several malfunctions can lead to the absence of a set.

  • Broken intake valve. The first “symptom” of this breakdown is difficulty in washing out the detergent from the powder receptacle. If the powder remained undissolved in the tray for a long time, then the inevitable happened and the device broke down completely. However, it is better to check your guess with a test: connect to the network and apply 220 Volts to the valve. The working device will close and click, but the faulty one will not respond to the supply of voltage.
  • Clogged filter mesh. The water in the water supply is hard and dirty, and most of the impurities and debris settle on the filter mesh located at the “entrance” to the machine. When the filter is clogged, Atlant hums for a long time, trying to fill the drum, but nothing happens.
  • Overfilled coarse filter. Often the second filter installed in the water supply system also suffers. It takes the full blow from dirty water, so it often gets clogged and blocks the flow of liquid into the washing machine.
  • Faulty pressure switch. The most common reason for problems with dialling is a failed level sensor. It stops monitoring the water level, the module detects a problem and, fearing a shortage or overfilling, stops the cycle. It is easy to check the functionality of the device: remove the top cover of the washing machine, locate the pressure switch, unhook the tube going into the tank and vent it. If there are several clicks in response, then everything is in order. Otherwise, you will have to clean the device or replace it.
  • Problems with the pressure switch hose. During prolonged use, the pipe becomes damaged and loses its primary seal, which negatively affects the operation of the sensor.
  • A crushed hose. The filling hose is pinched by the body and is blocking the water’s “path” to the drum.
  • Non-functioning pump. Before a new set, part of the remaining water in the housing is automatically drained. If the machine’s pump is broken, pumping does not occur, and the board delays filling the drum.
  • Broken board. The electronic unit is the “brains” of the washing machine, controlling all the processes occurring inside. If there are problems with the board, the machine does not respond to user commands it does not start drawing water.

It is easier for owners of modern cars - the self-diagnosis system should automatically detect the problem and display an error code on the screen. All that remains is to decipher the combination by following the instructions. In any case, it is important not only to determine the nature of the malfunction, but also to understand what to do next. More on this below.

Check the warranty.

If a completely new machine does not fill with water, then it is better not to rush into diagnostics. All Atlant washing machines are covered by a 12-month warranty, and it is better not to miss the opportunity for free professional repairs. Do not forget that if you open the case yourself, you automatically lose your chance of warranty service.

There is no point in worrying about the warranty for owners of cars younger than 2019. In this situation, you should try to figure out the problem yourself without overpaying the service center employee. However, before any manipulations, it is necessary to study the factory instructions, understand the structure of the machine and remember safety precautions.

How will we look for the problem?

When you decide to install your own water supply, you need to prepare. First, we disconnect the washing machine from all communications, then we begin a sequential check, moving from simple to complex. Diagnostics starts with the basics:

  • Make sure that there is water in the house (open the tap in the bathroom or kitchen),
  • Check that the valve on the water supply is open,
  • Drain the water from the inlet hose, and then inspect the hose for damage, pinching and blockages.

If everything is in order, then we continue the diagnosis by inspecting the filter mesh. This is a round nozzle installed in the inlet hose. When clogged, the mesh does not allow water to pass through, so the filter should be cleaned.

  • Disconnect the inlet hose from the washer.
  • We are looking for a mesh.
  • We grab the protruding part of the mesh with pliers and pull out the filter.
  • We thoroughly rinse the mesh under water, and in case of severe blockages, go through it with a toothbrush.
  • We return the grid to its original place.

Often the machine does not fill with water if the coarse filter is clogged. This nozzle is located immediately after the tap, so you will have to unscrew a couple of elements using spanners. Another difficulty is that when the retaining nut is released, water will rush out of the pipe. There is no need to rinse the mesh separately - under strong pressure, all debris and dirt will wash out on their own.

Is it the valve's fault?

In most cases, a broken intake valve leads to problems with the set. This device cannot be repaired, so you need to remove the faulty one and install a new one in its place. The service center will charge at least 3-4 thousand rupees for such work, and a maximum of 500 rupees will be spent on replacement at home. You do not have to skimp on the quality of the spare part – it is easy to meet the mentioned amount even with the purchase of an original part.

The replacement process is not complicated, so even a beginner can handle the job quickly and easily. The main thing is not to deviate from the instructions.

  • Unplug the washing machine.
  • Turn off the water supply tap.
  • Unhook the inlet hose from the body, first draining the water from it.
  • Remove the top cover by unscrewing the retaining fasteners.
  • Find the valve and photograph the wires and pipes connected to it (so as not to make mistakes when reassembling).
  • Disconnect the wires and hoses from the contacts.
  • Loosen the retaining bolt.
  • Remove the valve from the washer.
  • Insert a new device in its place.
  • Secure the device with a bolt, connect hoses and wires.
  • Return the cap and inlet hose to their place.

After replacing the inlet valve, the machine is connected to the network and water supply. Next, any quick wash is selected, and the “idle” cycle starts. If water flows into the powder receptacle and tank, it means that the repair has been carried out efficiently. We also separately evaluate the reliability of the connection of the inlet hose: there should be no drops or leaks at the junction. If the situation repeats, you must contact the service center.

The machine will not wash without water, so if there are problems with the set, you need to act. If you consistently check all the “sore points” of the washing machine, you will quickly find the problem, and the described instructions will help you deal with it.
